
The Transitional Living Program is a residential opportunity for Alaska Native and American Indian youth, ages 18-21, who lack a safe place to live. It provides educational and training support resources for 12 people living in an apartment complex, for a period of up to 18 months, while they make the transition to independence.
The program believes that all youth want to succeed and will respond to expectations when provided with safe housing and the opportunity to make choices. During their participation, residents focus on life skills, relationships, problem solving, and cultural awareness. They develop plans of action in order to equip themselves in the following areas:

Through the provision of appropriate career guidance and the development of a strong work ethic, the Transitional Living Program helps its participants make a successful transition from youth to adulthood.
