As an integral part of Alaska Native Medical Center's Emergency Department, the Urgent Care Center accepts people who go to the emergency department, but whose needs are not life-threatening. Its staff of mid-level providers and licensed practical nurses take pride in assisting customers. They focus on providing quick encounters for the customer and the early return of the customer’s care to his or her own primary provider.

The Urgent Care Center treats people of all ages, on a non-scheduled basis. The goals of the department are:

• To provide exceptional health care
• To decrease the wait time for all customers
• To ensure that everybody receives attention commensurate to their level of disease or injury
