The Women’s Health Clinic (WHC) at the Anchorage Native Primary Care Center provides a full range of health services for women, both pregnant and non-pregnant, throughout the life continuum, from adolescence to post-menopausal.
Although many pregnant women may have their primary health care providers at the Family Medicine Clinic, they may be followed by a WHC provider during their pregnancy and delivery if...
If high risk, women may receive care for months before the delivery date. Pregnant women from villages in the Anchorage Service Unit often come in for the last few weeks before delivery.
Non-pregnant women who have their primary providers at the Family Medicine Clinic may elect to see WHC providers for special procedures (such as colposcopies) or consultations, if they prefer. WHC staff includes obstetrician/gynecologists, women’s health nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwives, and certified nurse assistants (CNAs and CMAs). A perinatologist is also available to assist with high-risk deliveries.
